Blogger Recognition Award

I would like to thank Roth Poetry ( ) for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award. Thank you for your nomination. I enjoy reading your posts and appreciate the words of wisdom you share in your writings or in your comments to my posts.

From a young age, I’ve enjoyed writing in journals as a way to process my thoughts and emotions. Months or years later I would shred my journal entries to symbolize that I was ready to move forward in life; leaving the bad behind and keeping the wisdom for the journey ahead.  As I got older I stopped shredding my journals. I treasure my entries and refer to them when I’m lacking hope or enthusiasm. Reading old entries serves as a reminder of how much I’ve grown and overcome.

About 1 year ago my co-worker nudged me to start my own blog rather than just sharing advice or stories with her. I was hesitant but the idea sounded exciting. I wasn’t sure how to start or how to connect with others in the blogging word. I thought it was a bit silly at first since I didn’t have any readers, yet my enthusiasm for writing grew anyway. I healed with each post. The posts shed light on things I had forgotten that I needed to heal from. The unresolved issues or loose ends affected me emotionally as I got closer to our wedding date. I wrote more vigorously to purge myself of the negativity clouding my mind. It helped me and thankfully I was released from some of the chains of my past. In the few months that I’ve been blogging, I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with amazing bloggers who through their writings or comments fill me hope and encouragement.

My word of advice for bloggers is to follow your heart. Don’t write what you think will get you more followers, write about the things you are passionate about. I don’t have many followers, but I look forward to writing regardless of how many views, likes, or comments I receive. I love interacting with bloggers on my posts, but I don’t allow it to discourage me if I don’t get any.

  1. Congratulations on the blog award. Thank you for the nomination but generally I’m an award-free blog. Once and a while, If I’ve time I do one, but right now is extremely busy. I appreciate the thought. Thank you.
